ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League Senior leader Dr. Saeed Elahi Thursday termed the budget 2025-26 as balanced, stating the government presented it in line with the people’s expectations and expressed hope that it would boost the country’s economy. In an exclusive conversation with PTV, Dr. Saeed Elahi highlighted the key features of the budget, noting that the government has taken significant steps to benefit the common man. He particularly emphasized the 10% increase in salaries for government employees, which would provide relief to the middle and lower classes. Dr. Elahi further stated that the tax reduction announced in the budget would also have a positive impact on the economy. By reducing taxes, the government aims to increase revenue collection in the long run by bringing more people into the tax net and encouraging businesses to expand, he mentioned. The PML leader expressed optimism that these measures would lead to economic growth and improve the standard of living for citizens. He appreciated the government’s efforts to prioritize the welfare of the people in the budget, saying it reflects their commitment to serving the nation. DNA
