LAHORE: Lahore High Court (LHC) has rejected appeal plea of death convict in the murder case of his wife and upheld death sentence . The criminal Wasim Abbas had murdered his wife two days after Khula. A 2-meber bench of LHC presided over by Justice Farooq Haider announced the decision. As per decision the criminal Wasim Abbas gunned down his former wife in Sargodha in 2020 when she had got Khula from family court. The criminal was declared culprit in the light of police investigation, medical report and evidence in the case. During the hearing of the case, Additional Prosecutor General (APG) Abdul Samad opposed appeal plea against death sentence taking the plea all the evidence are against the criminal , therefore, the sentence be upheld. On the other side the defence lawyer gave arguments in support of appeal. However the court was not satisfied over these arguments. The court upheld the death sentence by rejecting the appeal plea.
