DLP Report
PESHAWAR
The KP govt has issued a comprehensive alert to all Deputy Commissioners across the province, urging preparedness for a fresh spell of monsoon rains forecasted to lash the region from June 25 to July 1, 2025.
According to a circular issued by the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), Regional Met Office Peshawar, has predicted that moist currents are already penetrating most parts of the province and are expected to intensify in the coming days. The situation is likely to escalate further as a westerly weather system approaches the region on June 25, becoming more prominent by June 26.
Under the influence of these weather developments, thunderstorm rains accompanied by lightning and gusty winds—with isolated to scattered heavy, and at times very heavy, downpours—are anticipated in a wide range of districts including Haripur, Abbottabad, Mansehra, Upper and Lower Chitral, Upper and Lower Dir, Swat, Buner, Malakand, Battagram, Shangla, Upper and Lower Kohistan, Kolai Pallas, Torghar, and much of central and southern KP including Peshawar, Mardan, Swabi, Nowshera, Charsadda, and the merged tribal districts.
