Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government launched “Khyber Pass,” Pakistan’s first-of-its-kind digital identity platform.
Chief Minister Ali Amin Khan Gandapur formally inaugurated the system, describing it as a landmark initiative aimed at simplifying citizens’ access to government services through a unified digital infrastructure. According to statement, the Khyber Pass platform is based on a QR code system that integrates with NADRA and other official databases, providing citizens with seamless access to their identity records and essential public services.
With this single digital ID, residents of KP will be able to access services related to health, education, taxation, licensing, and property, among others—without needing to register separately for each service. “The Khyber Pass will eliminate the need for multiple registrations and long queues. Citizens will no longer have to visit different government offices; they will have access to all essential services online,” said the Chief Minister during the launch event.
The initiative also includes the inauguration of Citizen Facilitation Centers (CFCs) in Abbottabad and Bannu. These one-stop centers will deliver 19 key public services under a unified roof, streamlining bureaucratic processes for the public. Previously, CFCs were launched in Dera Ismail Khan and Swat as part of the project’s first phase. Under the first phase of the plan, CFCs will be established in all divisional headquarters. The second phase will see their expansion to district level, and the third phase aims to bring them to every tehsil in the province.
