Money laundering case against Pervaiz Elahi: Court gives last chance to FIA to file challan

FIA could not file challan in money laundering case and the court accepted exemption plea from attendance in respect of former Chief Minister (CM) Punjab Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi Friday.
Money laundering case came up for hearing before judge of FIA central Lahore Friday.
During the hearing of the case, Amir Saeed Ran counsel for Pervaiz Elahi filed application for exemption from attendance
He told the court Pervaiz Elahi could not appear in the court being unwell.
The court accepted exemption plea of Pervaiz Elahi and inquired from FIA where is challan of the case.
The investigation officer said time be given to file challan.
Amir Saeed Ran counsel for Pervaiz Elahi said opportunity was given to FIA three times. But they could not prove allegations against Pervaiz Elahi. FIA has no evidence with it. Pervaiz Elahi is being subjected to victimization only.
The court said time is sought by FIA. File the challan when allegations have been leveled.
Counsel Amir Saeed Ran said Moonis Elahi is innocent. He was nominated in the case deliberately. Not a single allegation has been proved against Moonis Elahi. The law is being trampled by issuing red warrants of Moonis Elahi. Government has no evidence regarding money laundering. Case was registered under political vendetta. Had there been any evidence, government would have presented in the court. But it has not been done so.
The court gave last chance to FIA for filing challan on August 18 saying if challan does not come then the proceedings will proceed further as per law.
