WSSC Kohat’s Emergency Response Team Fully Activated to Prevent Urban Flooding

Kohat: July 23, 2025 – WSSC Kohat has fully activated its Emergency Response Team to prevent urban flooding in view of the monsoon rains, which has been engaged in special cleaning of drains to improve the drainage system in different areas of the city since 10 Muharram.

Under the special instructions of WSSC Kohat Chairman Board of Directors and Acting Chief Executive Officer Muhammad Saad and the effective strategy of the Operations Team, comprehensive measures are being taken to deal with the possible effects of monsoon in six urban areas of the city. The cleaning of drains is being completed on priority basis so that there is no obstruction in the drainage of water during the rains.

The emergency response team includes 20 trained workers, along with dewatering pumps and jetting and skimming machines on standby. This team is capable of dealing with any emergency situation in a timely manner, so that the citizens can be protected from possible flood conditions and drainage problems.

Heavy machinery including excavators were also hired for cleaning various places in the city, such as Hangu Road and Katha Jhang near Millennium Guest House, through which effective cleaning of large drains and storm drains was possible.

WSSC Kohat, keeping in mind the welfare of the citizens, is continuing the process of cleaning drains in several areas beyond its scope, so that the risk of any possible urban flooding can be minimized during the monsoon season.

WSSC Kohat’s Complaint Cell 1334 is also fully functional and additional staff duties have been imposed so that any complaint regarding cleanliness can be redressed in a timely manner.

WSSC Kohat has also appealed to the public to avoid throwing garbage into drains during the rains and cooperate with the organization in the cleaning process.
