Awami National Party (ANP) provincial president Mian Iftikhar Hussain has strongly criticized the federal government’s decision to appoint representatives from Punjab and Sindh for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the 11th NFC Award, calling it an “insult” to the province and a blatant robbery of its rights.
He questioned whether KP lacks its own qualified experts and accused both the federal and provincial governments of conspiring to deprive the province of its due share.
Mian Iftikhar reminded that the federal government had promised Rs 100 billion annually for merged districts in 2018, a commitment yet to be fulfilled, and demanded a separate share for them in the NFC.
The ANP leader said KP, being the biggest victim of terrorism and natural disasters, deserves an increased share rather than decisions imposed by outsiders. He declared that ANP would not accept this “injustice,” stressing that excluding KP’s people from decision-making violates the constitution and endangers the province’s future.
