ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif has issued special directives to the federal ministers in view of threat of high flooding in rivers Chanab, Sutlej and Ravi. As per media reports PM directed the federal ministers to visit the flood affected areas of Punjab immediately besides monitoring the relief and rescue activities directly. PM ordered chairman National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) to keep close contact and extend full cooperation to Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA). He made it clear to provide timely information to people in flood hit areas so that they could be shifted to safe places immediately. He directed the respective institutions to make evacuation process of people living on river banks more accelerated and effective. PM directed relief activities be further geared up and interconnectivity between institutions be enhanced so that any financial loss or loss to life could be kept at minimum level. Online
