Electricity tariff is likely to be scaled down by Rs 1.69 per unit under monthly Fuel Adjustment for consumers. The application seeking curtailment in power tariff under Monthly Fuel Adjustment came up for hearing in NEPRA Thursday. The authority heard the application under member Sindh Rafiq Sheikh.
CPPA has said relief will be provided to consumers in the electricity bills for the month of September. In the event of approval relief amounting to Rs 23 billion will be provided to the consumers. NEPRA expressed resentment over electric current incidents due to rains in the month of July.
Member NEPRA said 11 people lost their lives due to electric current in one month.
Member NEPRA Rafiq Sheikh said 6 people died in IESCO.
The public hearing with reference to monthly fuel charges adjustment in respect of power distribution companies was completed in NEPRA headquarters.
