LANDIKOTAL: outbreak of cholera and diarrhea claimed the life of an 8-year-old girl while 17 others were affected in Syed Jamal, near the Machini check post, in Khoga Khel Karam Khel’s new settlement village of Landikotal tehsil, Khyber district. According to local sources, the girl named Fereshta died due to the disease, while women and children were among those infected. The patients were immediately shifted to Landikotal Hospital, where they were provided with initial treatment. Some of the patients in critical condition were referred to Peshawar. Residents of the Khoga Khel Karam Khel tribe have urged the district administration and health department to dispatch doctors and medical teams to the affected area immediately to control the disease and prevent further loss of lives.
