Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Central Secretary General Muhammad Humayun Khan participated as the chief guest at a ceremony held in connection with International Peace Day, organized by the Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Foundation and SZABIST University Islamabad. The event aimed to promote the values of peace, interfaith harmony, tolerance, and human rights in light of global challenges. It was attended by a diverse audience including students, faculty members, civil society representatives, and political leaders.
In his address, Humayun Khan emphasized that International Peace Day serves as a reminder that peace is not merely a dream, but a continuous struggle requiring commitment, education, and collective will.
He said the founding ideology of the PPP is rooted in peace, democracy, and the protection of people’s rights, adding that Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto made unforgettable contributions to global peace and human dignity.
Humayun Khan urged the youth to reject violence, extremism, and hatred, and instead become agents of positive change through knowledge, tolerance, and dialogue. “It is through these values that we can build a better, more peaceful society,” he said.
The event concluded with a special prayer for global peace, held in collaboration with the Shaheed Bhutto Foundation.
