Al Karam Sports secured a spot in the quarter-finals of the ongoing Naveed Mehboob Azmi Memorial Zone One Inter-Club T-20 Cricket Tournament yesterday, after defeating Nazir Hussain Gymkhana by five wickets at the KPI Ground. The tournament is Being organized by Regional Cricket Association Karachi Zone One.
In a low scoring affair, Nazir Hussain Gymkhana, batting first, struggled against a disciplined bowling attack and was dismissed for a paltry 65 runs in just 16.2 overs. Adil Tanoli was the top scorer with 30 runs, while Hasher Hassan contributed 16. The collapse was orchestrated by Shahroz Alvi, who delivered a superb spell, taking four wickets for only seven runs. He was well supported by Waleed and Fasih Khan, who each claimed two wickets.In reply, Al Karam Sports achieved the required target in 10.5 overs,losing five wickets in the process. The successful chase was spearheaded by Aurangzeb Ahmed, who scored an unbeaten 40 runs with the help of two fours and two sixes, while Hameed Khan remained not out with eight. Syed Hasher Hassan was the most effective bowler for Nazir Hussain Gymkhana, taking three wickets for 16 runs. Nasir and Shoaib served as umpires for the match, with Faisal acting as the official scorer.
