Court issues notice to respondents, seeks reply

Justice Tariq Jahangiri case
KARACHI
The court while issuing notice to the respondents has sought reply in Justice Tariq Mehmood Jahangiri degree case.
Case regarding cancellation of degree of Justice Tariq Mehmood Jahangiri of Islamabad High Court (IHC) came up for hearing in Sindh High Court (SHC) Tuesday.
Barrister Salah ud Din took the plea September 25 decision of Karachi university syndicate and Unfair Means Committee is illegal. University has no powers to revoke degree.
The petitioner said there are at least four such decisions of Supreme Court (SC) that universities cannot revoke degrees without issuing notice.
During the hearing of the case Justice Iqbal Kalhoro inquired why this case has been fixed in our bench.
The counsel replied cases related to universities are fixed in this bench.
Justice Kalhoro further inquired is petition of similar nature pending hearing in Supreme Court (SC) too.
The court was told the matter of preventing the judge from performing judicial work by Islamabad High Court (IHC) has been challenged in SC.
The court remarked we issue notice to respondents. Let the reply come and then case will be heard further.
The hearing of the petition was adjourned till October 5.
