ISLAMABAD
Prime Minister (PM) Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif while directing to ensure provision of immediate and every possible help and relief to people in flood affected areas has said that all available resources be utilized to help the affectees.
Chairman National Disaster Management Authorities (NDMA) Lieutenant General Inam Haider Malik called on PM in Islamabad Saturday.
During the meeting relief activities in flood-affected areas and measures being undertaken for the rehabilitation of flood victims were reviewed.
The Prime Minister directed the NDMA to maintain effective coordination with the relevant provincial departments and Provincial Disaster Management Authorities.
He appreciated the use of AI and modern technology at the National Emergencies Operation Centre.
The Chairman NDMA briefed the Prime Minister on relief activities in flood-affected areas and measures being undertaken for the rehabilitation of flood victims.
He said that with the cooperation of the federal government, NDMA relief operations will continue in flood-affected areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
Steps are being taken in collaboration with respective institutions for provision of relief and rehabilitation of flood affectees.
PM while stressing on effective monitoring of relief activities, immediate access to affectees and best utilization of available resources directed to provide every possible facility and help to the flood affectees in this difficult hour.
