RAWALPINDI
Chief of Army Staff (COAS) and Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) Field Marshal Asim Munir hosted a reception for Pakistan Army veterans on the occasion of Independence Day. A large number of retired officers and soldiers attended the gathering.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Field Marshal Asim Munir paid tribute to the veterans for their longstanding and valuable services to Pakistan’s defence and national security.
He appreciated the contribution of former servicemen towards strengthening national resilience and said their experience, expertise and guidance remained an important institutional asset for the Pakistan Army.

The army chief also highlighted the importance of veterans’ advice and experience in responding to the changing security environment and emerging challenges.
ISPR said the veterans expressed confidence in the leadership of the Pakistan Army and reaffirmed their continued support for the armed forces in dealing with evolving security threats.
The former servicemen also pledged to keep playing their role in promoting national unity, peace, stability and prosperity.
The reception also recognised the sacrifices, experience and decades-long contributions of Pakistan Army veterans to the defence and security of the country.
