A delegation from the All Pakistan Commercial Exporters Association (APSCEA) has departed for Germany to participate in the world’s largest gemstone exhibition, held annually in Munich from October 23 to 26.
According to APCEA Chairman Iftikhar Ahmed, members of the association have been contributing significantly to the national economy by exporting precious and semi-precious stones since 1989. He noted that regular participation in international gem exhibitions plays a key role in boosting foreign exchange earnings and expanding the country’s gemstone trade.
The Pakistani delegation, comprising eight leading gemstone exporters and led by Chairman Iftikhar Ahmed, is attending the event with the support of the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) and the Embassy of Pakistan in Frankfurt.
“This is a proud moment for Pakistan,” said Ahmed. “The Munich Gem Show offers immense business opportunities, enhances the global recognition of Pakistani gemstones, and helps build connections with new international buyers.”
He added that such platforms also help portray Pakistan as a peaceful and investment-friendly destination, which contributes positively to the national economy. Increased trade and investment can lead to greater employment opportunities and help reduce unemployment across the country.
Chairman Ahmed emphasized the need for the government to facilitate the participation of more local business representatives in international trade exhibitions, calling it essential for sustained economic growth.
