TAKHT BHAI
Former Chief Minister Ameer Haider Khan Hoti has slammed the PTI-led government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, saying the province was on the brink of economic collapse due to failed policies and deteriorating law and order.
Hoti, central leader of the Awami National Party (ANP), expressed these views at a Workers Convention and Joining Ceremony in Takht Bhai. He criticized the government’s handling of the economy, healthcare, education, and communication systems, accusing them of prioritizing political interests over public welfare.
“The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has failed to secure the province’s rights and instead keeps repeating the slogan ‘Release Khan,’” Hoti said, questioning the PTI’s claims of standing for justice and transparency.
Hoti also condemned the government’s decision to privatize hospitals and educational institutions, saying it would push basic public sectors into investment opportunities. “Education and healthcare are fundamental rights of the people, not businesses,” he emphasized.
The PTI provincial spokesperson countered that the government was reforming institutions to make them autonomous and efficient, ensuring transparency and improvement.
The province was facing numerous challenges, including a worsening law and order situation, lack of transparency in recruitments, and neglect of essential development work. The gap between public expectations and the government’s performance has pushed the province to the edge of disaster.
