ISLAMABAD: Kashmiris on both sides of the Line of Control and world over observed Jammu Martyrs’ Day Thursday to reaffirm their resolve to continue the struggle for their UN-recognized right to self-determination. According to Kashmir Media Service, November 6 marks one of the darkest and bloodiest chapters in Kashmir’s history, when hundreds of thousands of Muslims were mercilessly massacred by the forces of Dogra ruler Maharaja Hari Singh, the Indian Army, and RSS-backed Hindu extremists in various parts of the Jammu region. On the other hand, posters have appeared in different areas of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir urging the people to pay tribute to the Jammu martyrs on their martyrdom anniversary. Meanwhile, in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, there was a public holiday Thursday. Special prayers were offered in mosques for integrity and prosperity of Pakistan, AJK and early liberation of occupied Jammu and Kashmir. Rallies and protest gatherings were arranged in all small and big cities of the state under the auspices of Kashmir Liberation Cell, Hurriyat and religious organizations. ONLINE
