Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Punjab, Dr. Tariq Saleem, has said that the historic Ajtma-e-Aam at Minar-e-Pakistan under the slogan “Change the System” will serve as a powerful expression of national unity and solidarity of the Ummah.
He stated that the convention, set to take place from November 21 to 23, is expected to surpass all previous records of public participation and will mark a decisive milestone toward systemic change in the country.
Addressing a review meeting of Jamaat-e-Islami Rawalpindi district officials, Dr. Tariq Saleem said that thousands from northern Punjab will join the event and reaffirm their commitment to Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman’s peaceful struggle for public rights and the transformation of the governance system.
He emphasized that anyone wishing for a safe, prosperous, and developed Pakistan must become part of this movement for change.
During the meeting, Ameer JI Rawalpindi Syed Arif Shirazi, Secretary General Usman Akash, Rizwan Khan, Raja Jawad, and other district leaders were also present.
Criticizing the proposed 27th Amendment, Dr. Tariq Saleem termed it unconstitutional and un-Islamic, asserting that Jamaat-e-Islami fully rejects it. He said that neither the resignation of the Field Marshal nor the President is justifiable in any manner. Referring to the practices of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), the Rightly Guided Caliphs, and the Companions, he stated that they always held themselves accountable before the public and the courts.
He added that parties attempting to distort the constitution are driven by hereditary politics and personal interests, contrary to the principles of law and justice outlined by both Islam and the Constitution of Pakistan.
Syed Arif Shirazi, who urged Jamaat-e-Islami workers to mobilize citizens and encourage widespread participation in the upcoming public gathering. He described the Minar-e-Pakistan event as the launching point of a decisive national struggle aimed at dismantling the outdated and corrupt system.
He said the Ajtma-e-Aam, organized with a firm resolve for systemic change, will renew public hope in protecting basic rights, establishing an Islamic governance framework, and providing a dignified life for all citizens.
