India’s National Medical Commission (NMC) has removed four doctors—including three from Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) and one from Lucknow—from the National Medical Register, barring them from practising medicine or holding any medical post in India with immediate effect.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the affected doctors—Dr Muzaffar Ahmad, Dr Adeel Ahmad Rather, Dr Muzamil Shakeel, and Dr Shaheen Saeed—were implicated under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) in connection with the November 10 Red Fort blast in Delhi. Three of the doctors are currently in custody.
The move comes after police claimed to have recovered a large cache of explosives on the same day and accused the doctors of involvement in the attack.
Rights groups have condemned the arrests and de-registration as politically motivated, describing the case as fabricated and targeting Kashmiri Muslim professionals.
