Tariq Hamid Karra, president of the Congress chapter in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), has warned against communalizing the deadly explosion near Delhi’s Red Fort, while criticizing the BJP-led Indian government for serious security lapses.
Speaking to media in Jammu, Karra condemned the attack “in the strongest words” but cautioned against associating it with any particular community. “Do not generalise it. There are good and bad people in every community,” he said.
Karra questioned the government’s claims of having eliminated terrorism after the abrogation of Articles 370 and 35A. “This incident happened right under your nose in Delhi. Who is responsible?” he asked, demanding answers from New Delhi.
The remarks came after an explosion in a slow-moving car at a traffic signal near the Red Fort Metro Station in Delhi on Monday evening, killing 13 people and injuring several others. Indian police have accused Kashmiri doctor Umar Nabi of carrying out the attack, claiming he also died in the explosion.
