UET Peshawar organizes Khyber Pakhtunkhwa job fair 2025

2,000 graduates and 205 industrial partners participated
PESHAWAR
The University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Peshawar, in collaboration with the Higher Education Department (HED), Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, organized the mega Job Fair 2025 under the Good Governance Roadmap of the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The Job Fair brought together 2700 young graduates and 205 industrial partners, providing a joint platform for direct interaction between industry and youth.
Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sohail Afridi, while addressing the participants as chief guest, said the job fair has created a unique opportunity for young graduates to connect with industry. He noted that this event brought industry to the doorstep of graduates, overcoming the earlier challenge of limited direct access to employers after their graduation.
He reaffirmed his government’s strong commitment to strengthening the higher education sector and announced that the “Internship and Talent Hunt Policy” for youth will be launched soon. He emphasized the government’s special focus on ensuring equal employment opportunities for women and enabling them to contribute effectively to national development.
The Chief Minister also visited various company stalls during the event and encouraged students to interact confidently with employers explore diverse career pathways and use this platform to showcase their potential.
Secretary Higher Education, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mr. Kamran Ahmed Afridi, stated that HED KP, in line with the provincial government’s priorities is organizing job fairs in five public sector universities across the province to promote employment, entrepreneurship, and industry linkages for youth development.
Prof. Dr. Sadiq Khattak, Vice Chancellor UET Peshawar said, over 200 leading companies from across Pakistan participated in the job fair Peshawar and conducted on-spot interviews, recruitment drives, and career counseling and technical sessions.
Highlighting UET Peshawar’s commitment to youth empowerment, he said the university has introduced a “Student First Policy” to strengthen student talent and enhance their skills. He thanked Prof. Dr. Ghazala Yasmin, Vice Chancellor University of Swab for her presence on the occasion.
Dr. Arif Khattak, Director ORIC, informed that 146 MoUs were signed with industry, while the Khyber Chamber of Commerce and Industry announced Rs. 20 million for the commercialization of viable products and committed 25 percent support in product development.
Later, a networking session with industry partners was held with Prof Dr. Sadiq Khattak in the chair. He expressed gratitude to His Excellency Ali BanafshehKhah, Consul General of Iran in Peshawar, Rector GIKI Dr. Fazli Khalid, and Director IMSciences Prof. Dr. Usman Ghani who were present on the occasion.
Representatives from the industry also expressed their satisfaction and welcomed the initiative taken by UET Peshawar and HED Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for providing a common platform for engagement. At the end, the Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Sadiq Khattak gave away shields to the main industrial partners of the Job Fair.
