The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly directed the home and tribal affairs department to immediately digitize its receipts and expenditures system to ensure transparency and strengthen financial oversight.
The directions were issued during a session chaired by committee chairman MPA Idress Khattak.
The committee reviewed audit objections related to the home and tribal affairs department for the fiscal year 2018–19 during a meeting held on Thursday.
MPAs Mushtaq Ahmad Ghani, Anwar Khan, Abdul Salam Afridi, and Ikram Ghazi, along with the DIG Frontier Police, Director General Audit, and representatives from the Finance and Law Departments, attended the meeting. Relevant officials from the Provincial Assembly were also present.
The committee conducted a detailed examination of each audit objection, seeking clarifications and requiring officials to present supporting documents, recovery details, and reports on actions taken.
Minor objections were settled on the spot, several others were decided upon, while some were deferred for further scrutiny.
Officials were also instructed to attach DSC proceedings with future working papers.
