RAWALPINDI: The Banni Police arrested a man for allegedly harassing and roughing up a woman after she declined a marriage proposal, a Rawalpindi Police spokesman said on Thursday. He stated that the suspect was taken into custody shortly after a complaint was lodged by the victim’s brother, who said the accused had been “harassing my sister and subjected her to violence”. The Banni Police registered a case and apprehended the suspect during a prompt operation. Superintendent of Police Rawal, Saad Arshad, said all legal requirements would be fulfilled to ensure the accused received appropriate punishment. He added that violence, harassment or abuse against women and children was intolerable, reaffirming the Rawalpindi Police’s resolve to take strict action against such offences. DNA
