CS reviews winter contingency plan for vulnerable districts

A high-level meeting on the provincial winter contingency plan was chaired by Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Shahab Ali Shah, to review preparedness measures for possible severe weather this winter.
The meeting was attended by Divisional Commissioners, Secretary Relief, Secretary Agriculture, and other senior officials.
It focused on evaluating district-level arrangements to address challenges such as snowfall, landslides, and road closures.
Officials were given a detailed briefing on the winter contingency plan, including the availability of resources, administrative and logistical arrangements, and relief measures.
The CS KP emphasized the importance of advance planning, inter-departmental coordination, and cooperation with disaster management agencies to respond promptly to emergencies.
Shahb Ali Shah directed divisional commissioners to prioritize sensitive areas prone to severe weather and ensure the availability of machinery, fuel, and relief materials.
