Supreme Court (SC) while hearing the bail plea of NAB accused Aamir Mehmood has ordered to get conduct forensic for checking the signatures of the accused. The court ordered the forensic be got conducted within 15 days and report thereof be filed.
Justice Musarrat Hilali remarked if there is danda then very big accused admit. When all the documents are with NAB then why the accused is in jail. Has the accused been kept in jail for punishment. She gave these remarks on Wednesday. Justice Jamal Mandokhail remarked we have remained not superior judiciary now. During the hearing of the case judges and NAB Prosecutor exchanged interesting remarks.
Prosecutor Nasir Mughal said permission will have to be sought from court for forensic of the signatures. Justice Jamal Mandokhail said we are ordering for forensic. Justice Jamal Mandokhail inquired do you not consider us court. NAB prosecutor replied sir you are superior judiciary. Justice Jamal Mandokhail remarked we are not now superior judiciary. Justice Musarrat Hilali remarked NAB is completely silent now a days. NAB cases are also not being fixed now a days. NAB prosecutor said may be NAB does not remain silent within some time.
The counsel for the accused told the court the major accused of the case has admitted the allegation. My client was arrested being relative of major accused.
NAB prosecutor said in his arguments the accused have executed more than 9 agreements with the citizens. The overall case is of Rs 6 billion while the accused is facing charges of Rs 87 million.
The accused collected money from more than 1400 citizens. The accused removed his signatures from the agreements.
Justice Jamal Mandokhail said the signatures of the accused will have to be scrutinized. He questioned why NAB does not complete the investigation soon.
NAB prosecutor replied the accused himself has given confessional statement.
The court adjourned the hearing of the case till the third week of January.
