Nov 26 protest case
RAWALPINDI
Anti Terrorism Court (ATC) Rawalpindi has approved one day exemption plea of Aleema Khan sister of PTI founder. The case registered in police station Sadiq Abad in connection with November 26 protest came up for hearing before Judge ATC Amjid Ali Shah. Prosecutor Syed Zahir Shah appeared in the court along with prosecution team. The counsel for Aleema Khan filed one day exemption plea in the court which was approved. Counsels of 3 accused nominated in the case completed cross questioning on 8 prosecution witnesses.
The court gave last opportunity to 8 accused including Aleema Khan for cross questioning in regard to statements of the witnesses.
The court remarked if cross questioning is not completed on next hearing then state counsel will be appointed.
Arrest warrants of the accused Sajid Ali Qureshi, Ali Raza and Muhammad Hanif were issued.
No pleader or counsel appeared in the court on behalf of three accused persons.
The court adjourned hearing of the case till January 5.
Faisal Malik counsel for Aleema Khan while talking to media men later said there was hearing of November 26 protest case against Aleema Khan Friday. We have told the court Aleema Khan cannot come due to her engagements.
One day exemption plea of Aleema Khan has been filed and the court has been requested to fix January 7 next date.
I have brought in the knowledge of court that Aleema Khan will appear on next hearing.
