On the call of the Federation of All Pakistan Universities Academic Staff Association (FAPUSA), teachers’ organizations from government universities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa staged a protest to highlight their long-standing demands.
The protest was held at various university campuses, including University of Peshawar, University of Engineering, Islamia College, and University of Agriculture.
Teachers participating in the protest voiced serious concerns about the ongoing issues facing the education sector, particularly the lack of economic and professional rights for university faculty.
The protesting teachers demanded the immediate approval and implementation of the BPS promotion policy, the provision of a Disparity Reduction Allowance (DRA), a revision of Tenure Track System (TTS) salaries, and the restoration of tax rebates.

The protesters emphasized that without addressing these problems, the quality of higher education in the province cannot be improved.

The teachers stressed that these measures are essential for ensuring a conducive environment for both teaching and academic progress in the universities of KP.
