Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Finance Advisor, Muzzammil Aslam, has called for a committee to review the federal government’s four-year performance, citing serious governance issues and poor economic indicators.
In a statement issued here on Saturday, Aslam questioned federal Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal about the status of projects under his ministry and the release of budgets, particularly the “Uraan Pakistan Program”.
Aslam highlighted the country’s alarming economic situation, including the highest unemployment rate in 21 years and 45 per cent of the population falling below the poverty line.
CM aide on finance demanded explanations from the Prime Minister and Ahsan Iqbal on various issues, including CPEC progress, loan utilization, and development project completions.
The advisor emphasized that a government facing governance issues is in no position to assess others’ performance, urging the formation of a review committee to examine the federal government’s performance.
