An important meeting was held here on Thursday with Commissioner Peshawar division Riaz Mehsud in the chair. According to a statement the meeting reviewed preparations for decisive operations against encroachments and improved cleanliness across all five districts of the division.
The meeting was attended by the Deputy Commissioners of Peshawar, Nowshera, Charsadda, tribal district Mohmand, and Khyber, along with District Police Officers and relevant local government officials.
A comprehensive plan for the demolition of encroachments using heavy machinery will be prepared next week to clear traffic-obstructing structures from major markets, highways, intersections, and other key locations.
Permanent measures to enhance cleanliness in the division will also be discussed.
In addition, the Commissioner issued immediate orders to address complaints raised through comments during the online open court.
The directives include resolving traffic issues, installing streetlights, ensuring timely issuance of weapons and driving licenses, regulating transport at Peshawar University, disbursing honoraria to scholars, taking action against professional beggars, and holding government officials accountable for negligence or incompetence.
All concerned departments have been asked to submit a report within 24 hours.
Addressing the public, Commissioner Mehsud thanked citizens for their active participation and announced that online open courts will be held weekly.
He said such initiatives help bridge the gap between the government and the public, strengthen communication, and facilitate sustainable solutions to community issues.
