Commissioner Kohat Division Syed Motasim Billah Shah on Tuesday attended the Qul ceremony of seven young men who were killed in a tragic landslide in the Qamar area of Gumbat tehsil.
During the visit, the Commissioner conveyed heartfelt condolences and sympathy to the bereaved families on behalf of the provincial government, divisional administration and police. He offered Fateha for the departed souls and prayed for the elevation of their ranks.
Calling the incident deeply tragic, Shah said the loss had plunged not only the affected families but the entire area into mourning. “The whole nation stands shoulder to shoulder with the grieving families in this hour of sorrow,” he said, assuring them that the government would not abandon them in their time of need.
The seven men lost their lives after a mound of earth collapsed in Qamar the other day, triggering widespread grief across the area. Authorities said a somber atmosphere continues to prevail in the area following the incident.
