Special Assistant to the Chief Minister for Information Shafi Jan has accused the federal and Punjab governments of prioritizing political revenge over people’s welfare, saying they were blind to the country’s economic woes. In a statement, Shafi Jan alleged the Punjab government was defying court orders by blocking the meeting, a move he termed a “clear violation of constitution and law”.
CM aide stated Imran Khan’s meeting with family and political leaders was a fundamental right, and the government’s actions were a manifestation of fascism. He claimed the PTI was committed to peaceful, constitutional, and democratic struggle for Imran Khan’s release and the rule of law. Mr Jan criticized the governments for focusing on revenge rather than governance, saying the people were suffering from inflation and unemployment as a result.
