With the onset of winter intensifying the gas crisis, the Malakand district administration has imposed an immediate ban on all CNG filling stations across the district to ensure uninterrupted gas supply to domestic consumers and prevent any potential law and order situation.
Deputy Commissioner and District Magistrate Malakand, Muhammad Fayyaz Khan Sherpao, has enforced a complete closure of all CNG stations under Section 144, effective until January 31, 2026, a handout said.
According to the official order, the continued supply of gas to the CNG sector amid shortages could deprive domestic consumers, leading to public anger, protests, and a serious deterioration of law and order.
To provide relief to households, gas supply to the CNG sector has been entirely suspended. The district administration has issued a stern warning that strict legal action will be taken against any station owner found violating the ban. Cases will be registered under Section 188 of the Pakistan Penal Code, and arrests will be made without exception.
The Malakand Levies have been placed on high alert and instructed to carry out a district-wide crackdown to ensure compliance. Citizens have also been urged to promptly report any violations to the authorities.
