Young minds present innovations at “Big Discoveries” school event

The City School Attock Campus held its much-anticipated Open Day titled “Little Minds, Big Discoveries,” providing a vibrant platform for students to demonstrate creativity, confidence, and practical learning through a wide range of academic and co-curricular projects.
The campus was transformed into an interactive learning environment where students presented hands-on projects across science, technology, engineering, and humanities.
Through engaging models and live explanations, students explored real-life concepts including the human digestive and respiratory systems, emphasising the importance of health, nutrition, and everyday science.
A variety of themed learning zones, including Fruitland Landia, Magic Garden, Space Exploration, Marine Life, Safari Jungle, Winterland, Desert Life, and the Progression of the Wheel, captured the attention of visitors. Students confidently explained concepts while dressed in creative costumes, reflecting both subject knowledge and presentation skills.
The Robo Learning Hub and Explorer Club showcased robotics, scientific inventions, and innovative ideas, while literary characters were brought to life through storytelling and theatrical performances.
Special attention was drawn to projects focusing on environmental sustainability and renewable energy. Students displayed working models of water filtration and irrigation systems, solar and wind energy, biogas plants, and conducted innovative experiments such as potato-generated electricity, highlighting awareness of environmental challenges and sustainable solutions.
Engineering concepts were demonstrated through hydraulic bridges, cranes, robotic arms, and smart city models addressing real-world urban issues.
The Open Day was attended by prominent education officials including Chief Executive Officer Education Dr Muhammad Azhar, District Coordination Officer Education Malik Zahid Mehmood, District Education Officer Elementary, and Medical Superintendent Mr Jawaad Ilahi, Qasim Raza along with parents and other distinguished guests.
The visitors appreciated the quality of student projects, confidence of presentations, and overall academic standards of the institution.
Speaking on the occasion, Headmistress Ms Sahar Qasim stated that the Open Day aimed to provide students with opportunities to apply classroom learning to practical problem-solving, fostering critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and communication skills. She added that the event also served to actively involve parents in the educational process and strengthen the home–school partnership.
The successful Open Day reflected The City School Attock Campus’s strong commitment to experiential learning and its mission to nurture future-ready learners equipped with knowledge, skills, and innovation.
