A ceremony was organized at the Peshawar Chamber of Small Traders and Small Industries on the occasion of Kashmir Solidarity Day, where the business community expressed complete solidarity with the people of Kashmir and called upon the international community to take notice of Indian atrocities in occupied Kashmir.
A large number of traders and officials from various markets of Peshawar attended the ceremony. Addressing the gathering, Group Leader and President of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Traders Association Malik Mehar Elahi, President of the Peshawar Chamber Shakeel Ahmed Khan Saraf, Senior Vice President Haji Tala Muhammad, Vice President Malik Zohaib Arif and spokesperson of the Traders Association Shahzad Ahmed Siddiqui said that Kashmir was the jugular vein of Pakistan and the nation could not abandon its Kashmiri brothers to Indian aggression.
The speakers stated that the business community stood ready to make every sacrifice for the Kashmir freedom movement, not only on the political front but also on the economic front. They emphasized that the Kashmir issue was not merely a territorial dispute but a serious humanitarian issue.
Condemning Indian actions, the speakers said that the Modi government had turned the occupied valley into the world’s largest prison, but despite oppression and tyranny, the spirit of freedom among the Kashmiri people could not be crushed.
The participants urged the United Nations to play a practical role in ensuring the right to self-determination for the Kashmiri people in accordance with its resolutions. They vowed that until the sun of freedom rose over Lal Chowk in Srinagar, every child of Pakistan would continue to stand firmly with the Kashmiri people.
At the end of the ceremony, special prayers were offered for the elevation of the ranks of the martyrs of Kashmir and for the peace and security of the country.
