Mardan: President of Land Owners Association Mardan, Nawab Khan Mohmand, Zawar Hussain, Chairman Qamarul Zaman, while holding an emergency press conference, demanded the government to resolve the demands of the landowners immediately. Vacancies were to be given to landowners, but they have not been provided employment in any school yet. Association president Nawab Khan Mohmand alleged that the jobs were also advertised in the newspapers in a wrong manner and the landowners were ignored. He said that the land owners are being subjected to pressure in various ways and are being deliberately harassed even though they have handed over their valuable land to the education department in the national interest. Chairman Qamar-ul-Zaman said that for the past eight years, he has been pleading with the government for time and has met the relevant authorities several times, but no practical progress has been made on his demands. He warned that if the landowners were not immediately recruited on all the posts, they would go to the last extent to get their rights. He said that otherwise he would not allow the school to open and would be forced to protest strongly. Later, officials and workers of the Land Owners Association staged a protest in front of the Mardan Press Club and raised slogans in favor of their demands.The protesters demanded the government to immediately provide jobs to the landowners as per the decisions of the courts and the promises made so that there is no further tension.
