KP CM vows no compromise on border security amid Pak-Afghan tensions

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi on Friday expressed serious concern over the recent tensions along the Pakistan–Afghanistan border, stating that the situation was being closely monitored and that there would be no compromise on the security of border areas.
In a statement issued here, the chief minister condemned any form of provocation or external aggression along the border and emphasised that safeguarding every inch of the country’s territory was a national responsibility.
He said he was in continuous coordination with relevant institutions in view of the evolving situation and added that protection of people residing in border districts remained the foremost priority of the provincial government.
Mr Afridi noted that all necessary measures were being undertaken to ensure the safety and security of border communities. He said the government was fully aware of public concerns arising from the prevailing situation and assured residents that they would not be left unsupported under any circumstances.
Directing the civil administration to remain fully alert, the chief minister stressed the need for preparedness to respond effectively to any emergency. He also underscored that responsible conduct was essential for maintaining peace and stability in the region.
