Inspector General, National Highways & Motorway Police, Sultan Ahmed Chaudhry, awarded cash prizes and commendation certificates to the officers who safely recovered an abducted trader from Motorway (M-2). The ceremony was held at the Central Police Office, Islamabad.
The IG highly appreciated the officers’ professionalism, bravery, and strong sense of duty. According to details, a few days ago, acting on confidential information, a joint operation was conducted by Motorway Police officers including Inspector Qalb-e-Abbas, Inspector Faisal Iqbal, Inspector Muhammad Israr, Inspector Adnan Munir, Inspector Shafqat Kamal, Inspector Asim Ishaq, Sub-Inspector Junaid Sajid, Sub-Inspector Saadat Hussain, Sub-Inspector Naeem Yaqoob, Sub-Inspector Zeeshan Tasawar, and Constable Asmatullah. During the operation near Balkassar Interchange on M-2 Motorway, the officers safely recovered the abducted trader, Tariq Aziz s/o Abdul Aziz, resident of Faisalabad, from a vehicle.
During preliminary investigation, it was revealed that the kidnapping gang was involved in inter-provincial criminal activities. On this occasion, IG Sultan Ahmed Chaudhry commended the officers for their outstanding professional performance, courage, and devotion to duty.
He reiterated that the National Highways & Motorway Police will continue to utilize all available resources to eliminate crime and ensure the safety and security of commuters on national highways across the country.
