Peshawar(PR):KP Finance Minister Muzaffar Said Advocate has said corruption free healthy society was coming into being in the province wherein all basic facilities of health and hygiene would be made available to the masses quite free at local level.
He while expressing concern on increase of certain chronic diseases including Thalassemia, asked the need for mass awareness to adopt preventive measures so that we could be safe of all kinds of ailments like developed world and get progress by leaps and bounds as healthy nation.
He was talking to Ijaz Ali Khan, Chairman Hamza Foundation Hospital & Transfusion Services, who called on him at his office Civil Secretariat Peshawar and besides apprising him of the contributions of the Foundation, demanded for increasing support to such welfare institutions as well as implementing Thalassemia Prevention Bill passed by KP Assembly in 2010.
Finance Minister said his govt knew gravity of the chronic disease that could be judged that besides candid steps by KP govt, our Chief Minister also led a walk of Thalassemia patients, children, parents and volunteers to mark the Thalassemia day.
He while lauding role of such welfare bodies in creating awareness against fatal diseases and serving the suffering humanity, assured that more funds would be allocated to encourage these organizations in next budget. He said his coalition govt has made all emergency treatment free at district and tehsil level hospitals. He said comprehensive preventive and treatment program worth billion of rupees has been launched to uproot heredity diseases like thalassemia and hemophilia. Similarly he said Insulin Bank has been established at HMC wherein free insulin was being given to diabetic patients on just showing the NIC. He said, free treatment facilities were also being arranged and funds gradually doubled for patients of other chronic diseases including hepatitis, dengue, TB, kidney dialysis, transplants and EPI etc with medicines. He said availability of all medical staff and facilities were also ensured at each and every health center throughout the province so that people especially the poor did not have to travel long distance to big hospitals for treatment. He said Safe Transfusion Program has also been launched in all hospitals to ensure safe blood transfusion to people.
Muzaffar Said Advocate however appreciated Hamza Foundation and all other such organizations for creating awareness and spirit among youth against diseases and helping the suffering humanity in shape of arranging blood donations camps in educational institutions, big cities and towns. He assured increasing grants and all other assistance to such institutions as well as appealed the philanthropists to extend generous help to such welfare bodies.
Earlier the Finance Minister was called in by delegation of Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) elite at his office and invited him to attend Azakhel Ijtimah along with his other cabinet colleagues. The delegation led by FazlUllah Daudzai informed that arrangements have been finalized for 2-day stay of 2.5 lakh participants including 10 thousands Ulema, one lakh youth and 50 thousands women in this mammoth congregation of JI.
Muzaffar Said Advocate exhorted that this Ijtimah would visualize roadmap of realizing long standing dream of making Pakistan a true Islamic welfare state as per spirit of the resolution of Pakistan as well as it would greatly contribute in furthering endeavors of KP govt for corruption free welfare society in the region.
He said this congregation gained international importance as our invitation accepted by Imam-e-Kaaba and Turk president besides Maulana Tariq Jameel would lead delegation of Raiwind Tableeghi Jamaat to participate in the Ijtimah.
