PESHAWAR
The Water and Sanitation Services Peshawar (WSSP) has finalized a comprehensive cleanliness plan to ensure sanitation and municipal services during Eid-ul-Fitr. According to the WSSP on Thursday, a total of 3,622 staff members will be on duty, including management and supervisory personnel. To facilitate waste collection, 372 vehicles will be deployed across the city. The workforce includes 2,686 sanitation staff and 936 water supply personnel.
Ahead of Eid, a city-wide clean-up operation will be carried out with special focus on Eidgahs and major mosques, where cleaning and lime application will be ensured.
During all three days of Eid, uninterrupted cleanliness and water supply services will be maintained. Streets, neighborhoods, markets and commercial areas will be regularly cleaned.
All waste collection points and transfer stations will be cleared before Eid. Staff and supervisors have been assigned at the neighborhood council level to ensure efficient operations.
On the directives of CEO Yasir Ali Khan, all staff leaves have been canceled to ensure full attendance. Monitoring teams, led by zonal managers and senior officials, have also been formed.
Additionally, standby teams have been set up to handle any emergency situations. The officials are closely monitoring weather conditions and special arrangements have been made to deal with possible rainfall, with machinery and staff kept on high alert.
