KP Excise intensifies anti-narcotics operations, 36kg hashish seized, two held

The Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control Department Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has seized 36 kilogrammes of hashish and arrested two accused during an operation in the provincial capital, as part of an ongoing crackdown under the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government’s zero-tolerance policy and directions of Provincial Minister Excise Syed Fakhar Jehan, against narcotics.
The action was carried out by the Excise Intelligence Bureau at H-Gol Chowk, where a bid to smuggle a significant quantity of drugs was foiled.According to official details, the operation was conducted under the supervision of Provincial In-charge Excise Intelligence Bureau Saud Khan Gandapur and Excise and Taxation Officer (Counter Narcotics Operations) Majid Khan.
The raiding team, comprising Inspector Fakhar Alam Khan and Sub-Inspector Fayaz Khan along with other personnel, intercepted a suspicious vehicle bearing registration number LEB-4852.A search of the vehicle led to the recovery of approximately 36,000 grams of hashish. Two accused, Zeeshan, son of Shahid Ali and Mohammad Tariq, son of Mohammad Shahid, both residents of Lahore, were arrested on the spot.
Similarly,a case has been registered against the accused persons at the Excise Police Station, Peshawar Region and further investigation is under way.Excise Department Officials said the anti-narcotics campaign would continue without interruption, adding that those involved in drug trafficking would be dealt with strictly in accordance with the law.
