Two attempting to kill ex KP Deputy Speaker arrested

Peshawar police have foiled an assassination attempt targeting former Deputy Speaker Mahmood Jan and arrested two suspects with possession of weapons. According to police on Wednesday, the suspects had allegedly planned to carry out a targeted attack on their opponents. The timely action by law enforcement agencies prevented the planned assault, potentially saving lives. At the time of the attempted attack, Mahmood Jan was accompanied by his cousin. However, due to swift police intervention, no harm was reported.
The arrested accused have been identified as Haris, son of Taj-ud-Din, and Musa Khan, son of Afsar Khan. Both are said to be residents of Isa Khel Safed Sang.
Police officials stated that the suspects were apprehended from the vicinity of Pishtakhara Dora Road, Safed Dheri. Weapons and a motorcycle used in the planned attack were also seized during the operation.
Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Peshawar, Dr. Mian Saeed, confirmed that a First Information Report (FIR) has been registered against the suspects and further investigation is underway to uncover more details about the plot and any possible accomplices.
