Professor Raheel Qamar, Rector CUI called on Federal Minister for Education and Professional Training Mr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqi in his office. The Rector requested the allocation of land for the establishment of COMSATS campuses in Karachi and Quetta. The Minister expressed his desire to materialise these campuses.
The forthcoming 46th Session of the Executive Council and the 15th General Conference of ICESCO, scheduled to be held in Kazan from May 13–15, 2026 was discussed at length. In this context, Prof. Dr. Raheel Qamar expressed the interest of his institution in hosting a future session of the ICESCO General Conference on behalf of the Government of Pakistan.
The Rector further highlighted various initiatives undertaken by the University for employee upskilling and capacity building. He also briefed the Minister on the implementation of the Electronic Filing System (EFS), which has significantly improved administrative efficiency and contributed to environmental sustainability.
The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to strengthening higher education and fostering innovation-driven development in Pakistan.
