COMSATS University Islamabad (CUI) and INTI International University, Malaysia, signed an MoU, through a virtual signing ceremony held on Thursday.
The ceremony was witnessed by Mr. Mohammed Syafik Firdaus Bin Hasbullah, Deputy Head of Mission and Counsellor at the High Commission of Malaysia in Islamabad, alongside COMSATS University Islamabad’s senior management led by Prof. Dr. Raheel Qamar, Rector CUI.
In the presence of Rector CUI, Dr. Raheel Qamar the MoU was signed by Professor Dr. Goh Khang Wen, INTI’s Pro Vice-Chancellor, and Dr. Fahim A. Qureshi, Registrar, CUI, on behalf of their respective universities.
In his remarks, Prof. Dr. Raheel Qamar, T.I., Rector CUI, highlighted the implementation of CUI’s AI-driven governance and paperless electronic filing system, which has processed over 12,000 e-files across seven campuses in three months.
The MoU will enable cooperation in faculty, student, and staff exchanges; joint research and supervision of MS/PhD scholars; co-publications; participation in academic events; sharing of resources; establishment of international centres; and cultural exchange.
However, Professor Qamar emphasized that the MoU be evolve into a platform for regional scientific cooperation, technology transfer, and science diplomacy.
The Malaysian Deputy Head of Mission and Counsellor lauded the MoU as a reflection of the longstanding educational cooperation between the two nations.
He stated, “this partnership not only reflects a formal collaboration, but also a shared commitment to advancing knowledge, fostering innovation, and strengthening academic ties between Malaysia and Pakistan.”
