PESHAWAR: District Police Officer (DPO) Swabi, Waqar Rafiq has suspended 19 police personnel deployed at various police stations across the district for negligence of duty. According to police on Wednesday, those suspended include one Station House Officer (SHO), two Sub-Inspectors and other officials. The action was taken after the DPO took notice of alleged negligence in the performance of their responsibilities. Following the suspensions, a departmental inquiry has been initiated against the officials. Authorities stated that formal charge sheets will be issued later and all aspects of their performance and alleged misconduct will be thoroughly examined during the investigation. The suspensions come at a time when a district-wide polio vaccination campaign is underway. Police further added that additional disciplinary action may be taken based on the findings of the inquiry.
