The Met Office has forecast unstable weather conditions in Murree, Galiyat and adjoining areas over the next few days, with rain, strong winds and thunderstorms expected from April 16 to 19.
According to the latest advisory, intermittent rain coupled with gusty winds and thunderstorm activity is likely, while hailstorms may also occur at isolated places.
The probability of rain and thunderstorms is higher on April 17 (Friday) with around 70 percent chances, along with possible hailstorms in some areas.
On April 18 (Saturday), moderate to heavy rainfall with hailstorms is expected with a 65 percent probability, while similar weather conditions with rain and gusty winds are likely to persist on April 19 (Sunday).
The Met Office said the weather is expected to remain partly cloudy and dry from April 20 to 23, whereas chances of rain and thunderstorms have again been forecast for April 24 with 30 per cent probability.
Meanwhile, Rescue 1122 Murree has placed all emergency resources on high alert in view of the expected weather conditions.
Officials said that staff and machinery have been fully prepared to respond to any emergency as per directions of the district administration.
Citizens and tourists have been advised to avoid unnecessary travel during adverse weather and exercise caution in areas prone to landsliding. In case of any emergency, they should immediately contact Rescue 1122.
