FIA to promote safe and regular migration: Behram

10th anniversary conference of MPF

The Federal Investigation Agency participated in the 10th Anniversary Conference of the EU funded Migration Partnership Facility (MPF), convened in Brussels on 14 and 15 April 2026 under the theme “Enabling Partnerships and Innovation: A Decade of the Migration Partnership Facility,” and was represented by Mr Muhammad Behram Khan, Director FIA Balochistan Zone.
Mr Behram Khan contributed to the panel session “Looking Ahead: Migration Management in a Fast Changing World. Drawing on Pakistan’s practitioner experience, he reflected on the institutional progress achieved by FIA such as the Risk Analysis initiative, and reaffirmed the Agency’s commitment to deepening operational partnership with the European Union, its Member States, and EU agencies.
The panel moderated by Ms. Christelle Wickened, Senior Project Manager, Global Initiatives, MPF was joined by distinguished international counterparts:
▪️ Mr Krzysztof Nowaczek, Acting Head of the Anti Smuggling and Anti Trafficking Unit, European Commission Directorate General for Migration and Home Affairs (DG HOME)
▪️ Mr Julio Vijande Rivera, Senior International Cooperation Officer and Advisor to the Head of the International Cooperation Unit, FRONTEX
▪️ Mr Hugo Rickberg, Coordinator for International Cooperation, Swedish Migration Agency.
FIA remains firmly committed to working alongside international partners to promote safe, orderly, and regular migration, and to advance shared objectives of border security, migration governance, and the protection of vulnerable persons on the move.
The MPF is an EU funded initiative, implemented by International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD), that supports practical cooperation between the European Union and partner countries on migration, mobility, and border management. Since 2016, it has delivered close to 100 projects, including RAPAK I and RAPAK II in Pakistan.
