Inspector General of Police (IGP) Zulfiqar Hameed has said that the use of data analytics and open source intelligence alongside traditional investigation methods has become essential in modern policing.
He was speaking at the certificate distribution ceremony held after the conclusion of a three-day training workshop on Crime Analytics and Open Source Intelligence at the Central Police Office in Peshawar.
Additional IGs Kashif Alam, Abbas Ahsan and Nisar Ahmed Tanoli, as well as DIGs Rai Ijaz Ahmed and Aftab Ahmed Mehsud, were also present on the occasion.
The workshop, organised in collaboration with the British High Commission and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime from May 5 to 7, trained 30 officers and personnel from various units of the KP Police.
Addressing the participants, the IGP said the KP Police was equipping its personnel with modern technology and scientific investigation methods to improve crime detection and prevention.
He said the introduction of advanced analytical tools and OSINT techniques would strengthen the operational capacity of the police force and help investigators respond more effectively to emerging security challenges.
Mr Hameed also distributed certificates among officers who successfully completed the training programme.
