Political alliance, Bara announces peace rally on May 12 amid deteriorating security situation in Khyber

In view of the worsening law and order situation in Tirah Valley and Bara, the Bara Political Alliance has announced a major peace rally and sit-in protest scheduled in Peshawar for May 12,2026 and urged the residents of Landi Kotal to participate in it in great number.
Addressing to a press conference in District Press Club, Landi Kotal on Thursday Sayasi Ittehad (Political Alliance), Bara Hashim Khan Afridi flanked by Murad Saqi, Maulana Anas, Khalil-ur- Rehman, Usman and others said that people from across Khyber district and other parts of the province were expected to participate in the rally to raise their voice for lasting peace in the region.
The growing incidents of insecurity and violence had created serious concern among residents, making it necessary for the public to unite for peace, he remarked
The rally will begin at 8:00 AM from Minaret, Bara Bazaar and will proceed towards Suri Pul, Peshawar, where participants will stage a sit-in protest, he added.
Leaders of the Syasi Ittehad stated that the main objective of the protest was to draw the attention of federal and provincial authorities towards the worsening security situation in the area and to demand a permanent solution to the issue.
The alliance appealed to the people of Landi Kotal and other parts of the district to participate in large numbers and play their role in the restoration of sustainable peace in the region.
They warned that if immediate steps were not taken to address public concerns, they would be compelled to launch an indefinite protest sit-in.
