To improve healthcare services for the local population, millions of rupees worth of modern medical equipment and healthcare facilities were inaugurated at the district headquarters hospital in Landikotal on Friday.
Member National Assembly Iqbal Afridi, Member Provincial Assembly Sahibzada Muhammad Adnan Qadri, Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s brother Naveed Afridi and CM focal person Shamsher Afridi jointly inaugurated several newly installed medical facilities, including a blood bank and a modern X-ray machine.
During the inauguration ceremony, a separate Hepatitis B and C testing section for women was also established in the gynecology ward. In addition, modern medical machinery and equipment worth millions of rupees were provided to the hospital.
The newly provided facilities include a blood bank, ultrasound machine, separate laboratory section for Hepatitis B and C patients, advanced X-ray machine, 180 new blankets, 16 stretcher trolleys, 21 manual beds, 20 oxygen cylinders, refrigerators, 10 dressing sets, 10 instrument trolleys, 10 stethoscopes, 20 benches, 11 nebulizers, 22 wheelchairs and 10 specialized pediatric stethoscopes.
Speaking to media on the oc casion, MNA Iqbal Afridi and MPA Adnan Qadri said that the DHQ hospital Landikotal had already been upgraded to Category-A status. They added that the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa had issued clear directives to equip the hospital with all possible modern facilities so that people would not face difficulties in accessing quality healthcare.
They said the government would not leave the public alone under any circumstances and that further steps were being taken to improve the health sector across the region.
MPA Adnan Qadri stated that despite shortcomings in the past, the government was now committed to providing the best possible healthcare services at the doorstep for the patients. He said that modern machinery worth millions of rupees had been installed at the hospital, which would benefit not only residents of Landikotal but patients from across the entire Khyber district.
Members of social and public circles present at the ceremony welcomed the provision of modern facilities at the hospital and expressed hope that these initiatives would significantly reduce healthcare-related problems in the area.
